Daily Duties at Wa Department Of Social And Health Services, Division Of Alcohol And Substance Abuse:
Served as a member of the Division’s Management Team, and provided advice and consultation to the Division Director on major funding policy issues. Supervised 15 fiscal staff responsible for providing accounting, grants, budget, and contracts services. • Led the budget development of a $200 million biennial operating budget, and 100 FTE’s to support division’s budget where over 90% of funds are contracted with chemical dependency providers for outpatient, residential, and prevention services. Administered complex funding model to effectively allocate funding to counties for outpatient drug and alcohol and prevention services. • Served as the chair of the Division’s diversity workgroup and principal advisor to Division Director on workforce diversity issues, access to services, and contracting with minority contractors.
