Daily Duties at St. John's Regional Medical Center:

Staff labor and delivery nurse; Centricity Perinatal Master Trainer; client care and coordination for labor, delivery, recovery, post-partum care, nursery and NICU; circulating and recovery nurse. Responsibility in this department requires performing CMEs on each new admit. Assessment and decision-making to ensure accurate reporting to off-sight MDs. Following patient care through early, active and emanate deliveries, both vaginal and cesarian section. It requires nursing skills such as IV therapies, medication administration, continued assessment of both mother and unborn child, certification in electronic fetal monitoring, proficiency in understanding all laboratory results, active communication, excellent patient and family interactions. Electronic medical record proficiency for both hospital-wide systems and for specific unit-related systems and programs. As a Centricity Perinatal Master Trainer, I was responsible on a daily basis for troubleshooting nursing learning curves and system workflow problems. What they like about St. John's Regional Medical Center:

A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
