Daily Duties at Northern Caribbean University:
Major duties have included: • Strategic, academic and budgetary leadership of the College • Participation & membership in administrative policy-making committees, councils and boards at the graduate and undergraduate levels and taking effective action for and on behalf of the College of Business and Hospitality Management. • College recruitment, selection, negotiation of contracts, processing of leave time, evaluation and promotion of faculty (in association with the Vice President of Academic Administration) • Development, introduction and evaluation of new curricula/programs • Setting and managing the research agenda of the College • Provision of continual feedback and reporting of all system functions to Academic Administrator • Curriculum Development: New programs, new course(s) and the deletion of undesirable ones in the curriculum • Change Agency: Studying the needs and interests of the various departments within the college and encouraging change where necessary. • Instructional Development & conduct of seminars and workshops • Faculty & Professional Development • Consulting with Deans and Program Chairs to ensure proper course and faculty scheduling • Coordinating the selection and ordering of textbooks and providing necessary data to the Bookstore Coordinator • Chairing College meetings composed of all Department Chairs and Instructors • Making decisions and judgments relating to departments and functions of the College • Student Development – assessment of student needs, marketplace expectations, core competencies and strategizing for effective curricular and instructional changes • College spokesperson at NCU orientations, open houses, College functions and commencement exercises.
