Daily Duties at Norfolk State University:

• Conducted and approved assessments, provided academic counseling, career guidance and personal counseling to various at-risk student populations. • Provided counseling services to all categories of students within the Norfolk State community. • Provided specialized advising for special need students • Referred students to support services for supplemental instruction, computer laboratory and tutorials and wrote career plans. • Provided training for peer tutors and supplemental instruction leaders. • Monitored and tracked advisees’ performance and progress. • Provided periodic reports on outcome assessment of services provided to students. • Provided referral services for students with disabilities. • Participated in facilitating Male and Female Mentoring Program. Mentoring service provided workshops and seminars on time management, writing skills enhancement, self esteem, stress management, dress for success, alcohol and substance abuse prevention.
