Accomplished 2-day, monthly closings, which included journal entries, working with department heads to properly accrue for expenses each month and reviewing prepaid schedule, depreciation schedule and all accruals. Oversaw junior accountant by reviewing journal entries and payments and coordinating schedules with workflow needs. Reviewed prior month’s activity with department managers and made appropriate corrections. Instituted formal journal entries and account analyses. Oversaw credit department by reviewing customer applications, running credit reports to determine appropriate credit lines and terms, reviewing lien waivers for finance director and contacting past-due customers. Organized and cleaned-up payment schedule, invoice flow and other processes. Processed monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax. Managed external audits and assisted in setting up internal control testing.
