Daily Duties at Kpmg Llp:
Led international and domestic teams on multi-objective internal audit and risk management engagements for both large SEC and non-SEC registrants in a wide spectrum of industries, including Global Manufacturing, Consumer Products and Industrial Markets. •Managed first and second year SOX and J-SOX engagements, as well as multiple internal audit outsourcing/co-sourcing engagements. o Developed a solid understanding of the relevant business process cycles fundamental to Global Manufacturing and Consumer Market environments, including Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay Inventory Management and Revenue Recognition. o Coordinated with Operational, Financial and C-level individuals to develop original process documentation, including narratives, flowcharts and Risk and Control Matrices, to document the relevant business processes, overall ICOFR environment, project implementation methodology and project management methodology. o Developed and summarized conclusions and findings for presentation to various clients’ audit committee members, including rolling audit plan development, SOX strategy and implementation plans, deficiency reporting and follow-up, etc. o Performed site visits to multiple client locations to observe and validate understanding of noted business processes. o Identified design and effectiveness control deficiencies through documentation and control testing efforts and suggested recommendations to assist clients with improving the overall control environment. o Identified and corrected material weakness deficiencies noted in inventory reconciliations and the related revenue recognition practices. •Served as Lead Engagement Manager of a client’s Project Management Office for an SAP implementation, coordinating efforts of multiple team members, including the client, KPMG and third-party implementation providers. o Doubled revenue from client engagement by cross selling additional business to other relevant service lines. •Managed risk to the firm through engagement risk application, proposal and engagement contracting reviews; providing guidance and consultation to engagement teams to ensure adherence to firm and regulatory standards. •Served on the National Project Management Office and IFRS Training group for the firm’s IFRS initiative, preparing and reviewing client-facing awareness presentations and proposals, including US GAAP to IFRS reconciliations and analyses. •Developed a new service line methodology, Establishing an Internal Audit Methodology, currently being sold and delivered to clients today. •Serve as International and National Instructor for the Global Advisory Services Practice, including course development and delivery. o Selected as International Instructor as one of 3 from a pool of 200. o Selected as National Instructor as one of 200 from a pool of 22,000.
