Daily Duties at Oa Rnet @ The Ohio State University:

• Directs engineering staff on all aspects of maintaining OARnet’s 1800 miles of fiber optic network designed to support higher education (public and private), K-12 community, state and local government and health care community. Responsible for strategic planning associated with the network infrastructure including: selection and implementation of the optical and switching equipment and configuration management to meet current and future needs of our clients. Currently provide leadership, coordination and management of the network, from engineering to NOC services. Direct all operations for installation and service provision for infrastructure systems: LAN, WAN, Fiber Backbone, and Data Networks. Serves as project leader on major projects & performs analysis, design, & other related functions as required.
