Voice Over IP (VoIP) Lab Manager (Testing, Tools, and Labs Engineering) (2002-2003) Managed/hands-on all aspects of independent multiple PSTN, and IP networks for the engineering lab for VoIP testing including day-to-day operations Windows Servers, PCs, UNIX, and Cisco platforms. Designed, built infrastructure, set up initial configuration for hardware, infrastructure, software, applications, test equipment and administration of networks. Supervised IT lab staff, contractors and interns. VoIP Engineering Lab Move Coordinator –(IT Recognition - Accomplishment Award) (2002) (70 cabinets) consisting of infrastructure, Routers, Gateways, PBX, Servers on time within budget • Mapped out a complete DC moving plan; justified staff requirements to facilitate move for engineers, maintained testing deadlines; and implemented a visible color code to minimize down time for beta equipment and other priority lab projects. • Designed lab infrastructure layout, encompassing network switching technology, making the lab environment more flexible and manageable; saving on required infrastructure by implementing state of the art Cisco Infrastructure • Wrote lab specifications and requirements. Worked with facilities, design engineers, electricians, corporate IT, and contractors to finalize plans and build new VoIP engineering lab facility in Woburn. IP Telecom Lab Manager (System Administration Lab and Desktop) (1998-2002) Designed and purchase equipment while working with engineers, facilities, and vendors, to put together a National EIP Data Center (DC), with redundant power, UPS and backup. Supervised and mentored employees, contractors, and Interns. • Incorporated the site’s existing power generation system, provided requirements for HVAC, fire suppression system and flexible Cat5 network infrastructure to build out the DC. • Transitioned the DC over to Genuity’s Network Operations Group for live operation in May 1999. Internet Support Engineer (Customer Request Engineering) BBN • Implemented Router Stats, News, and DNS configurations
