Daily Duties at Bechtel Power:
As lead Civil/Structural Superintendent for the Lively Grove power project in Lively Grove Illinois, I was responsible for the supervision of Bechtel direct hire ironworkers constructing the 1500 megawatt power plant at Prairie State. I supervised over 100 craft ironworkers and superintendents successfully to achieve their required quality, safety & schedule goals. I created the site policy and have managed the removal & reinstallation of numerous pieces of structural steel throughout the site in order to assist other disciplines in achieving their goals. . I manage the erection and modification of cranes and structural steel. My responsibilities also include the receiving and storage of material, as well as rigging of various equipment including turbine parts. I have created trackers and schedules used to assign, track and forecast the Bechtel ironworkers’ scope of work and developed work schedules as necessary. I work with field engineering to successfully resolve various structural steel issues and to ensure proper inspection and buy-off of completed work. I have worked with project controls and field engineering to rebase line the ironworker accounts.
