Daily Duties at Twentieth Century Fox :

As the Executive Director for supply chain, I was responsible for all sourcing, manufacturing, inventory planning and distribution of DVD’s and Blu Ray products for all of North America. I was responsible for a manufacturing budget totaling $200 million dollars. I ran the day to day operations for the entire department, which included: sourcing, purchasing, forecasting, manufacturing, inventory planning, and distribution. The department had a total of 11 employees that were under my responsibility. In this role I had the responsibility for the management of people resources through good practices, employee appraisal systems, implementation of compensation and benefit programs, communication systems, and performance management techniques. One of my key roles was vendor management via metrics to measure their effectiveness in meeting cost, quality and delivery time. I was responsible for over 20k item numbers and 150 million units of finished goods inventory. My goal was to have the right inventory at the right time and in the right distribution centers. I managed two distribution centers – US and Canada. I was responsible for validating sales and manufacturing forecasts through our ERP / MRP systems. I was responsible for all system upgrades and changes from inception to execution. I was also responsible for the preparation of annual budgets, business plans, and operating goals/objectives for the purchasing and inventory management functions as part of the business’s annual strategic planning process. I was also responsible for capacity planning and prioritizing to ensure we achieved 100% fill rate on our top selling finished goods. I saved the company $15 million dollars through cost saving strategy to improve margins and contribute to revenue growth. I was the key contact for several actions and departments such as physical inventories, sales, marketing, finance, internal and external audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant. I was also responsible for the contract management / adherence and management with all of vendors to ensure vendor excellence. I managed vendors in Asia and North America. Contract management was a key duty and issuing RFP (request for proposal) for certain finished goods and freight.

What they like about Twentieth Century Fox :

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
