Daily Duties at Nasa Ames Research Center:

Mission System Engineer (MSE), Chief Engineer, Spacecraft Lead Engineer and Independent Technical Authority (ITA) for the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE), a 250 million dollar mission to the moon. Responsible for mission requirements, the flight segment, and systems engineering management. . Responsible for overall leadership and coordination of the LADEE SE team, especially relating to the definition, development and maintenance of the system requirements, mission system architecture, spacecraft design and operations concepts. Major responsibilities include: leading design trades, risk management, technical design reviews, verification and validation planning, interface definition management and problem resolution. Also responsible for developing all project process documentation, including the Project Plan and Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). Successfully completed Systems Requirements Review (SRR) and Mission Design Review (MDR) in July 2009. Responsible for managing teams across 3 NASA Field Centers, 2 of which were offsite locations at Goddard Space Flight Center and Wallops Flight Facility. Responsible for briefing NASA headquarters in DC and our Program Office in NASA Marshal Space Flight Center. Responsible for overseeing over 80 Engineers scientists and support staff. Responsible for technical success of the mission and management of the engineering resources of the project. Responsible for leading the project through several major reviews • Launch accommodation study 6/2008 • Payload accommodations Study 8/2008 • Mission Concept Review 11/2008 • NASA HQ Key Decision Point A review 1/2009 critical for authority to proceed with mission • Mission Definition Review and Systems requirements Review (MDR/SRR) 9/2009 • Preparation of Preliminary Design review
