Daily Duties at Nasa Ames Research Center:

Project Manager and Senior Systems Engineer for a variety of advanced projects related to future manned missions to Mars. Responsible for leading project team of approximately 18 engineers, scientists and support personnel from 4 remote NASA Centers to develop, design, implement, integrate, test, validate and successfully complete Heat Melt Compactor Project in compliance with customer requirements while working to established project constraints of process, schedule and budget. The development schedule was for 4 years and 12 million dollars. Of the 12 million dollars, 8 millions was allocated to the existing civil servant staff and the remainder was for procurement of contract labor and procurement. Day to day responsibilities included developing and negotiating project plans covering cost, schedule and deliverable prototype space flight hardware to our customers a NASA JSC and NASA Headquarters. I was personally responsible for developing detailed schedules for the entire team, setting up a master data base that contained all Project data and could be accessed by team members from all field centers. For small teams such as this, I would work as both the Project manager and Lead systems engineer overseeing all technical trade studies, responsible for all detailed design decisions, worked as the sole interface with our in house NASA Fabrication facility for manufacturing the hardware. Responsible for writing test plans.
