Daily Duties at Will County Health Department:
• Report directly to EH Director • Perform daily managing duties for staff • Approve, reject and balance timecards through Kronos time keeping system • Create and balance daily deposits from $1000 to over $10,000 • Oversee all environmental health programs ensuring inspection frequencies are met • Completes the annual report for environmental health division • Assists with local health protection grant audits • Completes monthly board of health statistics to showcase environmental health division • Develop environmental health division procedures and policy • Revise environmental health division ordinances • Participate in developing Will County Continuity of Operations Plan for environmental health division • Participate in the Will County Emergency Operation Center as a backup representative for the WCHD for nuclear events and other all hazard emergency events • Serve as Situation Unit Leader for the Will County Health Departments Emergency Preparedness and Response team • Standardized by Illinois Department of Public Health in the food program • Oversee and occasionally conduct inspections, educational trainings and investigates complaints on wells, septic systems, food establishments, pools/spas, body art and piercing, and tanning facilities • Conduct and supervise hearings • Issue septic and well permits • Oversee the tanning program and the West Nile Virus grant program • Train new employees on procedures and policy • Continually training public on food safety procedures and HACCP • Routine contact with Illinois Department of Public Health, county board members, governmental officials, townships and village officials, building department, and the states’ attorneys office
