Daily Duties at Wang Laboratories:
• Served as project manager and consultant for several key accounts within the State Department, Department of Commerce, US Information Agency and Department of Defense. • Provided expertise in all facets of VS system administration. • Supported communications protocols including TCP/IP, WANG SYSTEMS NETWORKING (WSN), 802.3, X.25, PC LANS (Microsoft, Novell, 3-Com & Banyan). • VS/LAN OFFICE functionality and integration. • Program development using COBOL, BASIC and FORTRAN. • Supervised the planning, conversion and implementation of several system upgrades to and from VS computer systems, and performance/configuration tuning of individual computer systems as well as large VS/PC networks. • Managed and implemented an installation of a large UNIX and DOS based PC LAN/WAN for the U.S. Army. • Designed and implemented a 400 user Microsoft LAN/WAN using Synoptics 2000 and 5000 series equipment with the WAN connectivity providing worldwide access to a 40,000 user community. • Completed all requirements for the title of Certified Novell Engineer.
