Daily Duties at Trek Bicycle Corporation:

• Overwrap Consolidation Clamp project for 2016 prototype road bicycle: o Designed aluminum outer mold, and produced the Silastic J inner mold o Analyzed the effectiveness of the Silastic J mold to bond and cure the carbon fiber overwrap o Re-designed the prototype to ensure the correct results with the overwrap consolidation and carbon fiber curing process • Designed tooling fixtures for the production of 2016 model carbon fiber road and mountain bikes • Assisted in the development and production of 2015 production road bike models through: o Development of CutWorks and JetCAM files for manufacturing to put the bike into production o Processing prototype carbon fiber frame parts by hand prior to having tooling fixtures available o Assisted in developing and producing tool fixtures to process R & D frames in order to confirm correct fixture design before being put into use for manufacturing production • Assigned and performed the additional following tasks: o Programmed and edited the Gerber CNC fabric cutting machines for sheets of carbon fiber, in addition to programming and operating the CNC milling machine for machining new production and prototype carbon composite bicycle parts o Dissected stress-tested bicycle frames, and polished carbon composite frame sections of interest to analyze causes of failure o Measured and inspected carbon composite bicycle sections for the product validation process o Prepared, machined, bonded, and oversaw the curing of carbon composite bicycle frames o Produced tools, bike components, and frame fixtures using mills, lathes, and Hass machinery • Project designer for the Ardennes Cobble and Chip Seal Road Surface Analog Project to test front end compliance using the Trek’s Brake Performance and Rolling Resistance testing machine: o Researched, planned, and designed Ardennes style cobble and chip seal analogues, as well as a rider platform and a rider safety system o Evaluated, and selected appropriate materials for the analogues o Submitted quote request to Trek’s prototype shop, in addition to working with the prototype shop to modify designs, develop specifications, and determine design priorities to ensure the creation of a successful product at the lowest production cost o Currently evaluating outside bid proposals, as well as developing a proposal for in-house production • Designed and manufactured a bicycle tool for removing the a bearing assembly from the carbon fiber Ultimate Race prototype bike frame • Tracked bicycle frame progress through the manufacturing process using Enovia Product Lifecycle Management and AtTask Project Management software • Created and reviewed Bills of Material for carbon composites used in the production of new road bicycle products using Enovia • Attended “Mastering Finite Element Analysis” seminar by MasterGraphics, Inc., in June, 2014
