Daily Duties at Avanzar:
Managed the cost accounting systems for the company’s two plants that manufactured door panel and headliners for the Toyota Plant in San Antonio, TX. Key functions included: • Updating the MFG/PRO Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), reconciling the MFG/PRO MBOM to the SAP BOM, analysis and preparation of the annual standard (Material, Labor, Overhead, and Freight) monthly annual cost rollups and analysis of variances for operations that generated over $10 million in annual revenue. • Developing and providing timely production, material, and labor operating metrics for the Plant Managers. • Completing periodic reviews of material and labor reporting systems (receiving, shipping, finished goods inventories, labor distribution, scrap reporting, and material usage) that ensured accurate monthly income statements. • Performing comprehensive analysis of inventory balances and identified slow-moving or obsolete inventory items. Coordinated with Material Managers to reduce inventory days on hand and aging reports. • Working with the Plant Controller and completing general accounting functions that included month-end closing, journal entries and reports. Ensured timely month-end closing and reporting into Hyperion, SAP, CI, ITS, VA/VE, and BBP. Prepared the year-end audit requirements for each plant. Coordinated the annual profit plan and quarterly forecasts for non-production department. Worked with non-production managers to assist with analyzing actual to budget variances. • Coordinating the monthly, quarterly, and annual physical inventory. • Ensuring all account functions complied with Sarbanes-Oxley (Section 4040 and BOS).
