Daily Duties at Methodist Medical Center Covenant Health:

Front desk duties including answering incoming telephone calls, route callers, take messages and provide routine information to callers, serve as a point of contact for physicians and their staff for the scheduling of surgeries and pretesting, obtain complete patient demographic and insurance information upon scheduling, maintain a daily log of patient appointments, notify appropriate departments of scheduled procedures, print and post surgery schedules and operating room staff assignments for the next day’s surgery cases, perform clerical duties necessary for the efficient functioning of the surgery department, manage tube system for delivery of specimens for stat lab testing and pharmacy needs, submit various work orders and order supplies. Serve as communication resource between operating rooms, pre-op/recovery room, surgery waiting room, capacity, materials management, CVSU, ICU, sterile processing department, Anesthesiologists, radiology, unit secretaries and nurses, same day services, anesthesia techs, etc. Register vendors and verify appointments with departments.
