Daily Duties at Sims Recycling Solutuion:
• Carry out risk assessment and considering how risks could be reduces; • Implement safe operating procedures with identify and take account of all relevant hazards; • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implements; • Making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation; • Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy; • Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks; • Documenting and recordkeeping of EHS data to include tracking accidents in the OSHA recordkeeping system, and maintaining training matrix; • Actively participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries and subsequent corrective actions; • Follows up on corrective action to ensure issues have been resolved; • Facilitation of safety committee meetings and activities; • Producing management reports, newsletters and bulletins; • Ensuring the safe installation of equipment; • Managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substance, e.g. lead; • Orders, distributes, and maintains inventory of PPE, safety and first aid supplies; • Advising on a range of specialist area, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substance, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases. • Internal and external auditor for ISO 14000, ISO 18000, R2, and e-Steward • Environment Management Representative for ISO 14000, ISO 18000, R2, and e-Steward ensuring that all task relating to the Environmental, Health, and Safety are identified and completed in a timely manner
