Daily Duties at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center:

In 1993, I became Professor and Head of the Organic Syntheis Core Facility at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. My primary responsibility was to spearhead the design and development of new chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer as well as and the total synthesis of natural products and analogues critical for the Institute's clinical and basic research activities. I provided technical expertise and advice to investigators throughout the institution on a daily basis. In addition to the managing the day to day operations of the laboratory, I also managed issues with administrators as well as patent attorneys. In addition to these duties I also directed, mentored, counseled and promoted the development of four postdoctoral fellows as well as directed and supervised a staff of three laboratory techniciansattorneys. • Counsel and promote the development of four postdoctoral fellows. • Direct and supervise a staff of three laboratory technicians.
