I was hired as an Application Scientist to provide pre and post-sale customer technical support. My value was quickly established and I was promoted to Laboratory Manager. In this role I was responsible for managing a small group (1-2 individuals) and ensuring the biological, chemical, nuclear and environmental Safety and Regulatory requirements of the Lab, and ultimately the site, were in line with all Local, State, Federal as well as corporate guidelines. Being the keeper of documentation I also led the integration of System 9000 software and drove an ISO 90001 Quality program to registration.
