Daily Duties at Volt Delta Resources :

Managed special directory assistance offered services like Sport Scores, Weather, Movies and Online Yellow Pages. These applications enabled a person to call 411 and get movie locations and times or weather or the score of the favorite games, etc. I managed the servers and database loads for these services. I often found myself writing front end programs to remove problem characters from data feeds or writing scripts to transfer the data to non DA customers. I enjoyed extensive trouble shooting in this position. I initiated the concept of automated testing where we tested the data path of all services every few minutes to insure functionality. In the event of a failure, the support personnel would be notified for proactive problems resolution hopefully before a customer identified an issue. I started up the Online Yellow page offering and documented the loading process in our environment and passed the loading procedures onto the Computer operations staff.
