Daily Duties at Cognizant Technology Solutions:

Lead the Mainframe and distributed production support team comprising of 4 onshore and 5 offshore team members. Performed analysis, development and production support activities which include resolving user queries, urgent defect fixes , handling critical batch stream, standard manipulation of jobs (holding, freezing, killing, demanding etc), resolving problem tickets across L1/L2/L3 levels. Provided SME support and advise to traders, operations and higher management of a leading financial firm. Analyzed the business and technology processes to help external auditors evaluate the design and effectiveness of the relevant technology controls by designing and executing tests. Supported Disaster Recovery and application stability initiatives over the years.

Languages used - COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and associated Mainframe tools like XPEDITOR, FILEAID, SPUFI, QMF, Main View, AbendAid, SDF, Endeavor, CA7, TSO/ISPF, JIRA, SYNCSORT and MQSeries., Have good client facing exposure and experience demonstrated by communicating with business on a regular basis, updating them of issues, workaround and possible resolution/fixes. Managed escalations effectively and tracked all production related incidents, Self-motivated and highly accountable. Very good communicator adept in delivering superior customer service in a techno functional role., Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problems., Very strong analytical, multitasking, problem solving skills supported by implementing stringent time bound change requests which required immediate attention., Spearheaded deliveries of various sizes, performed performance tuning, production support and troubleshooting activities. Lead efforts to automate manual tasks with minimum client intervention thereby providing value adds., Good leadership skills demonstrated in current role of onsite coordinator and project lead., Documented and coordinated multiple project activities thereby making sure Service Level Agreements are not jeopardized.
