Daily Duties at General Dynamics Land Systems Force Protection:
• Managed the implementation of Peoplesoft from ADP EV5 • Responsible for managing procedures related to Peoplesoft support including system design modification, implementation, diagnose and troubleshooting errors/problems relating to software packages, hardware issues, security, password problems, as well as training and equipment acquisition. Evaluates HRIS organizational needs and ensures existing system meets changing institutional requirements • Partners closely with HR colleagues, HRIS vendors, Payroll and IT staff to ensure that systems are effectively meeting the needs of the HR team and organizations • Reviews, investigates and implements key self-service (Benefits, Employee) modules; Shares functional expertise and best practices with internal clients, peers, and others • Used SIRS Benchmarking by Mercer to realign job descriptions and salary for the GDLS-FP • Trained and implemented SuccssFactors performance review software in alignment with other GDLS subsidiaries • Benchmark, research and analyze market data and make recommendations. Identify survey participation activities, perform ongoing reporting and analysis; prepare special studies and prepare recommendations; • Conducts and leads analyses of compensation and benefit programs in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization’s compensation and benefit practices • Provides recommendations regarding salary grades or market rates for specific jobs • Ensures compensation programs are consistently administered across the organization and comply with governmental regulations .Remain current with all legal changes and market changes impacting compensation and benefit design and plans, including executive compensation and administration • Manages the benefit function in an international environment. Plans include health, life, AD&D, disability, workers compensation, pension plans [403(b) and 401(a)], Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), transit benefits, FMLA, COBRA and other ancillary benefits • Partners with brokers and vendors to analyze utilization and claims data and identify trends/issues; recommends process improvements and/or plan design changes • Resolves complex employee questions and problems by researching benefits policies and provisions and acting as liaison with carriers • Ensures accuracy and annual updating of benefits orientation and benefits relating recruiting • Managed the implementation of ADP EV5 from HRB and PayExpert • Responsible for independently managing a payroll processing team (with one or more team leads) to deliver timely and accurate payroll while minimizing FPII expense and exposure. Sets performance objectives and goals for the payroll administration team and directs staff to ensure adherence to standard payroll policies and procedures. Responsible for leading the service team to deliver a high level of quality and service to all FPII internal and external partners • Managing payroll processing teams • Involved with more strategic/complex initiatives & special projects • Serves as an escalation point and manages activities of team members • Manages to SAS70 audit control objectives. • Provides internal communication to enhance the organizations' effectiveness in dealing with critical issues. • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data received from 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholders. • Leverage technology and existing processes to gain efficiencies. • Manages the performance of the Payroll Team to ensure internal proficiency centering on training, workforce qualification and certification, retention strategies, job structure, and succession planning. • Coaching and mentoring for success • Providing team training opportunities for focal areas • Encouraging associates to think for themselves and make suggestions for improvements in their own processes • Delivering consistent reinforcement through verbal and written praise and recognition conducting employee performance appraisals and assign performance objectives and provide regular feedback • Supervise resources and allocate labor based on operational needs while minimizing overtime expenses • Collaborate with associates on creation and management of development plans focusing on succession planning
