Daily Duties at Ibm:
Worked directly with customers and ensured that all SLA's were met. This included Mainframe, AS/400, and Networking. I attened morning and afternoon turnover meetings to ensure all problems were addressed. When high priority issues arouse I lead the the teams to resolve them and directly reported the findings to the customer and upper management. I had to start and run conference calls to ensure all the tech support teams were on the call and working the issues. I had to perform reviews for 30 operators across multiple platforms. Had to give customers tours of the command center and answer any questions they may have. I had to resolve any hardware issues within the computer room and escalated as needed to get issues resolved. Worked with HR to create a detailed plan to ensure that during a disaster our data center would stay staffed with operators across multiple platforms. Created and implemented a cross training program that ensure that operators could support multiple platforms thus saving the organization money. Scheduled and assisted with disaster recovery drills across platforms. Lead the monthly RCA meetings to resolve issues that impacted the customer and SLA's. Once a resolution was discovered I ensured it was implemented. I presented the findings to the managers, directors, and VP's.
What they like about Ibm:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
