Daily Duties at Hurricane Katrina Grant Program:
• Managed all calculation and eligibility appeals for Applicants of the Hurricane Katrina Grant Program. • Calculation appeals entailed the processing of all damage assessments for Applicants, which included the analysis of insurance and damage percent amounts, ordering and receiving damage assessments, and updating all Applicant’s workflow information pertaining to the damage assessments as they are processed. • Eligibility appeals entailed managing all eligibility criteria for the applicant set forth by the Homeowners Assistance Program. • Responsible for preparing all Eligibility and Calculation Appeal Summaries in preparation for the Mississippi Development Authority Board to review in an effort to qualify the applicant for a grant if they have not met eligibility requirements or if they dispute their final calculation. After investigating applicant’s file determining the reason for their case to go before the Appeals Board, interviewed the applicant to acquire all information possible to be submitted on their behalf. • Updated necessary spreadsheets and prepared weekly reports for upper management which portrayed a weekly status report consisting of all open and closed appeals, and appeals aging.
