Daily Duties at Itt (Now Known As Exelis):

Was assigned to be part of a seven person team in the Engineering and Installation section at Kandahar AB, Afghanistan for the pulling, placement, installation, termination, troubleshooting, and testing of CAT 5/5e/6 (twisted pair) cable along with Fiber Optic (single and multi-mode) cable. Also include but not limited to installing PVC pipe for communication cables and pulling of copper and Fiber Optic cable. All trouble tickets were assigned utilizing the Remedy ticketing system. Also was assigned to a three person team when major projects were approved and assigned to the Engineering and Installation section. Used the Fluke system of testers for the testing of CAT 5/5e/6 twister pair cables and Fiber Optic single and multi-mode cables. Terminated CAT 5/5e/6 according to EIA/TIA standards and labeled fiber optics according to industry standards.
