Daily Duties at D&Sci:

Initially was part of a four person team on Camp Mike Spann, Afghanistan to pull, place, install, terminate, troubleshoot, and test CAT 5/5e/6 and Fiber Optic cables (single and multi-mode) with all tickets being assigned using the Remedy ticketing system. Later was transferred over to Deh Dadi II, Afghanistan as part of a three person team to initially start the project of bringing the camp to US commercial standards and to start the first phase of installing the Fiber/Copper ring on the camp. While at Camp Deh Dadi II all tickets were assigned utilizing the Remedy ticketing system. Was later transferred to Camp Alamo, Afghanistan to be part of a two person team installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting CAT 5/5e/6 and Fiber Optic cables. All tickets were assigned utilizing the Remedy ticketing system. At all the above camps terminating of CAT 5/5e/6 twisted pair cables was according to EIA/TIA standards. Testing of cables was with personal cable testers. Termination of fiber optic cables was with Corning Unicam connectors for both single and multi-mode cables. Testing was conducted using Fluke Fiber Optic test equipment. Labeling of fiber optic cables was in accordance to industry standards. Fiber optic repairs was completed using the Fujikura S60 single strand fiber optic single strand splicer.
