SR. FINANCIAL & OPERATIONS PROGRAM MANAGER – 2010-2011 • Key contributor in the business application design, solutioning, user acceptance testing and validation of the NxGen Siebel CRM versions 7.5 and 8.0). • Developed validation workflow analysis (end to end) in a System Integration Testing environment resulting in problem identification and expedient solutioning. • Recognized as financial systems subject matter expert for key elements of the CRM initiative. Identified financial discrepancies affecting sub-ledger system during testing phase resulting in immediate issue escalation and resolution. CORPORATE SERVICE OPERATIONS MANAGER – SOX COMPLIANCE 2006-2010 Responsible for the overall management, reporting and SOX compliance of assets totaling $25M. Manage up to 26 analysts. • Spearheaded the development and deployment of an Inventory Management & Control program for the Field Service operations resulting in improved internal controls, support to field leadership, reduced replenishment levels, excess and obsolete inventory. • Directed annual physical inventory cycle counts for 5,097 warehouse locations achieving 100% compliance in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements. Established inventory aging reviews and replenishment programs resulting in $500K inventory reduction • Ensure the system of internal inventory control was adequate to support the objectives of financial reporting, inventory accuracy, as well as regular reviews of excess and obsolete inventory reserve requirements. • Supported the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Internal Controls process; audit support, control monitoring, annual physical inventories, month-end reconciliation of accounts and internal controls as required. • Directed the functional architecture, specifications & design, system integration, conversion plan development, user acceptance testing criteria, North America field operations personnel training, issue identification on a major corporate asset module initiative (NxGen) Siebel CRM. Result: Meeting the needs of users, management and customers, ensure quality and data integrity, timely deployment within budget. FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS MANAGER 2006-2010 Appointed by VP of Operations to oversee corporate plans totaling $12.2M and provide financial planning & analysis, leadership, support and training to the corporate operations leadership team. • Reduced expenses by $1.3M due to implementation of staffing recommendations and expense control policies. • Drove the tactical development, analysis and measurable control of the annual plan and forecasting cycles. • Conducted SG&A/Budgetary analysis, monthly budget and forecast reviews including annual Fiscal Plan development. FIELD FINANCIAL MANAGER – Corporate Project Initiatives 2005-2006 Contributed to corporate initiatives and provided financial and project support to various Corporate and Business Unit teams • Contributed to the timely Integration and Transition of a newly acquired company valued at $3.2 billion. Recipient of JCI Chairman’s Merit Award. • Member of and supported a business transformation team focused on the deployment of a major business model initiative resulting in enhanced sustainable growth and profitability. Recipient of JCI Chairman ’s Merit Award – SGI • Developed and conducted financial training for 156 branch managers, including financial statement reviews, asset management practices, revenue recognition, expense control and backlog reviews. Senior Management Commendation. CONTROLLER - FFM 1999-2005 Responsible for the overall financial leadership and expertise to 3 geographical areas with annual sales exceeding $184 million. • Coordinate and provide financial direction for the annual sales plan, staffing plan, capital plan, historical trend analysis, growth by line of business projections, revenue backlog reviews overhead budget and capital and operating plans at an Area and branch level. • Directed the strategic planning, annual budgeting and forecasting process for the area as a whole and each field branch location. Translated business strategies to financial targets and measurable performance indicators. • Provided financial and business guidance and partnership to senior operational vice-presidents in the achievement of strategic and tactical objectives. Collaborated with field operational leaders in developing strategic plans and metrics. • Conducted monthly analysis reviews of actuals results vs. forecast, budget and prior year. Engaging with operations management to identify both opportunities for improvement, as well as risks in achieving business goals and objectives. • Applied financial analysis and research skills to explain results, business issues, provide causal insight as to deviations from plan and formulate solutions to address deviations. • Provided monthly analysis of gross profit margin analysis to include understanding of all cost variances, as well as the impact of product mix and pricing. • Increased financial awareness for non-financial employees through training and guidance on financial statement reviews, performance measurements, interrelationships, asset management, planning, budgeting and expense control. CONTROLLER, SP Controls Group – Manufacturing 1998-1999 Manufacturer of gas valves, pilot burners, actuators, HVAC dampers with annual sales of $30.6 million. Directed a staff of seven. • Overall responsibility for the financial management functions including financial planning & analysis, reporting, payroll, fixed assets, accounts payable, facilities & systems (MIS-Symix), forecasting, inventory control, interpretation and analysis of monthly and annual operating results.
