Daily Duties at Ace Cash Express:

Engineered a complete turnaround in a district that ranked last in the region (7 districts) and near the bottom nationally (105 districts) in overall performance results prior to arrival. This district had been through 3 DMs in the previous 12 months, was not meeting any performance goals, and struggled with low morale, inadequate staffing, and very poor teamwork. Fully accountable for all aspects of the business including sales, operations, customer service, payroll & expenses, P&L, staffing, talent development, and marketing. • Achieved considerable improvement in every area of the business, driving overall performance results from 97th to 21st in the country and from 7th to 3rd in the region. • Increased sales by 7.7% over LY – improved from 7th to 2nd in the region for total sales volume. • Increased average mystery shop scores from 71% to 95%, with a high of 99% in Q3 – best in the region. Improved from “bottom 10” to a consistent “top third” in the company. • Improved all operational standards and processes, and raised internal audit scores from 73% to 95%. • Consistently maintained a profit margin of 45% or higher. • Reduced payroll by 5% in the first year – on pace to repeat that this fiscal year. • Achieved a considerable reduction in employee turnover, improving from 90% to just 28% - ranked in the “top third” for retention on a consistent basis. Launched a new employee recognition program. • Developed, mentored, and promoted 8 associates to management positions. • Closed 2 underperforming stores and transitioned 75% of the business to other locations. • Selected to oversee another district (30 stores in total) during a DM leave.
