Daily Duties at Saint Francis Neighborhood Center :
1. Raising money and finding contractors to do invest $40,000 - $50,000 in needed repairs of the historic Victorian house; originally built by one of the founders of Baltimore and housed the organization. a. Obtained estimates from three local contractors b. Identify and build relationships with charitable foundations in Maryland, especially those that served Baltimore City, and groups that did specifically capital projects and/ or historic projects c. Secure funding for the capital repairs; all needed funding came from a local charitable foundation and the Baltimore City government. d. I worked with the general contractor and sub-contractors to keep the project moving and complete all repairs in our three-month timeline. 2. Functioned as a resource building partnerships between government and foundations to improve safety, community capacity and identify community barriers and resources. 3. Managed finances, grants, program development and implementation, and event planning. 4. Determined and implemented organizational policy. 5. Initiated and managed programs including an annual Health Fair, bi-monthly potlucks, a monthly Community Hour discussion group to develop neighborhood leadership.
