Daily Duties at Child And Family Tennessee :
1. Provided community therapeutic services for individuals experiencing domestic violence by; a. Locating and furnishing an office in Roane County Tennessee to set up a new office in this rural county. b. Provide advocacy support in court hearing and working with the court on restraining orders, housing agreements, and custody for clients in the process of leaving their abusive relationship. c. Community outreach to local organizations to provide partnership in serving those who were experiencing domestic abuse. d. Community outreach to individuals/ new clients to offer service such as safety, planning, housing, employment, and mental health resources and services. e. Provided direct case management for individuals’ who were seeking a way to end their abusive relationship and to live a life free from abuse. 2. Served as a domestic violence advocate in a Crisis Shelter for women and children experiencing interpersonal violence in urban Knoxville Tennessee a. Providing direct case work to approximately 20 women a month; with weekly goal plans, providing information on support services, transportation to the Department of Human Services and/or job searches/interviews, provide guidance on legal decisions and navigation the court system, connect them with legal services, and being available for emotional support b. Managing day-to-day activities in the shelter c. Make the weekly grocery run with in budget to provide food for a shelter of 20 women and children
