Daily Duties at Iat Group:

I was hired to implement change management process to ensure the production data was protected. I implemented Aldon Change management and created a production promote process that included procedures for vendors and the programming department. I also created from scratch a disaster recovery plan which I tested successfully for both AS/400 and Windows servers. I also created and implemented backup processes for both Windows and the AS/400 to satisfy audit needs as well as the corporate needs. Due to operator errors I lead the project to automate the nightly, weekly, monthly, and yearly cycles on the AS/400 by implementing Help Systems products. As a cost reduction I lead the project to implement Robot Reports which cut down printing by 96.8% with a cost savings of $96,000 in the first year alone. I lead projects to design, build, and move 3 data centers across the enterprise. This included negotiation with vendors and contractors to ensure we built the best cost effective data centers. I was the system administrator for both VMWARE, AVAMAR, DATA DOMAIN, and the AS/400. I manged 8 employees across the enterprise. This included reviews, write ups, and recommending promotions. I had a yearly budget of roughly 1.3 million which covered 3 data centers, our disaster recovery site, and my 8 employees. I was the disaster recovery coordinator and was also responsible for maintaining vendor relationships. I worked directly with my AVP and VP for project approvals. Once the projects were approved i worked directly with the vendors and engineers. I took Administrator courses with EMC for AVAMAR and VMWARE. I also took system Administrator courses with IBM for the AS/400. On a daily basis I ensured that all SLA's were met and investigated and resolved any backup issues. I also ensure that the Change Management process was not circumvented to protect the production environments. I also lead the project to consolidate 3 AS/400's from remote sites to the headquarters. I performed all the technical duties associated with this process.

What they like about Iat Group:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
