Daily Duties at Nrg Energy Inc (Xcel Energy):
Responsible for the development and progress updating of the Summary Level Schedules for all Combined and Simple Cycle power generation projects for incorporation into the Executive Monthly Management Report. Performed extensive review of all contractor Level III Engineering & Construction schedules for Combined & Simple Cycle generation projects and provided feedback & comments regarding required corrective action. Generated the necessary schedules to support special project requirements within the Engineering / Construction department as directed by the Executive Director of Construction. Attended on-site Monthly Progress Meetings on an as required basis. Prepared and delivered the Project Controls presentation at the semi-annual inter-company Project Manager Training Seminar. As part of a Brazilian arbitration proceeding, had been intimately involved with the analysis and response to an EPC contractor’s claim involved in the construction of the 156 MW Itiquira Hydro Electric Facility. Several trips were made to the job site and NRG’s Operating Company in Brazil to acquire documents and to meet with our attorney in preparation of the formal response. As a final assignment, assumed the task of resolving & negotiating the settlement of Mechanics Liens on a newly constructed 1,168 MW Combined Cycle Generating Facility.
