Daily Duties at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center:
• 24/7 responsibility for 14-bed Emergency Department with annual visits of 26,000 • Supervised 50 employees, including RN’s, CNA’s and an Assistant Director • Oversight and management of capital and operating budget and day-to-day operations of department • Interacted with state on EMTALA surveys • Managed operations/compliance, facilitated patient care, coordinated customer service, experience with TJC, CMS, DHHS • Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management oversight • Installed computers in all patient care rooms and implemented bedside documentation • Designed and implemented “Pull Until Full” triage concept • Implemented patient call backs to improve patient satisfaction from 50% to top quartile • Designed and implemented five bed minor care area utilizing mid level provider during peak hours and weekends to decrease LOS and door to MD times • Decreased AMA/ LWOT’s to < 2% from 4.5% by improving patient flow • Implemented Clinical Coordinator Role to provide shift oversight and coordinate patient flow • Worked with ProMed Clinical Documentation system
