Daily Duties at Port Authority Trans Hudson:

• Investigate rail accidents, including collisions, derailments, fires, employee and passenger fatalities and injuries. Analyze primary and secondary causes for accidents, and make recommendations for accident prevention. • Prepare technical and safety reports for senior managers of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Reports have focused upon critical areas regarding safety issues at PATH, and recommendations for system and operational enhancements. Enhanced accident prevention and mitigation efforts at the agency. • Developed Rail Derailment and Collision Investigation courses for PATH first responders. Course curriculum includes- Critical Field Safety Issues, On-Site Investigation Principles, Effective Safety Report Writing, Technical Overview of Rail Cars, Track, Signals. Course development included written manuals and PowerPoint presentations illustrating critical areas. Courses will be taught to PATH employees. • Develop written reports for the Federal railroad Administration. Monitor PATH compliance with FRA regulations. Reports ensure that PATH operations comply with FRA standards and regulations.
