Daily Duties at Professional Service Industries, Inc.:
Reporting to the CIO, was responsible for all computer systems, infrastructure, communications, web application development and support for 2,300 users in 85 remote offices plus a corporate datacenter. Managed 14 staff members including a help desk manager, 4 support technicians, 4 network administrators, 2 system administrators, 2 programmers and an Oracle DBA. Developing and maintaining a productive and effective team through proper technical and soft skill development. Mentoring professional and technical skill development in alignment with PSI's technological direction. Providing effective team and project discipline and leadership through guidance and challenge. Reviewing and evaluating work of subordinate staff and preparing performance reports. Preparing activity and progress reports. Escalation Resource acting as Team lead for problem resolution of complex system related events. During escalated events, responsible for coordinated communication with impacted customers, management, and key subject matter experts. Responsible for proper “Problem Resolution Reports” / “Reason For Outage” reports tailored for the appropriate audience. Scheduling and directing staff in monitoring, diagnosing and resolving computer, network, hardware, and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Reviewing vendors and service providers for proper alignment with PSI's strategic direction and Core values. Responsibility for vendor audits ensuring proper technology potential and advancement. Negotiation and budgetary responsibility for IT budget adherence. Keeping current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and pricing.
