Maintained responsibility for operational matters within the IT department  Directed budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow, and strategic planning for the business group’s principal office and 55 manufacturing and distribution facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia.  Oversaw the Business Service Center including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and transactional accounting (75 co-workers).  Vice President and Controller Led all aspects of finance and accounting for both the manufacturing and distribution businesses.  Successfully opened profitable operations in China and Scotland.  Navigated a 5 year full scope IRS audit which resulted in a $2M refund.  Developed accurate and reliable financial reports that aided in business decision-making processes.  Compiled business and financial analytics including trading results, forecasts, market and strategic issues, capital spending, safety, and KPIs.  Directed compliance efforts associated with Sarbanes Oxley legislation prior to deregistration.  Managed capital expenditures including evaluating proposals and preparing Board submissions.  Played a key role in acquisition analysis and due diligence.  Served as the liaison for internal and external financial and tax audit engagements with the Big 4 firms. Finance Manager  Prepared statutory accounts and consolidated North American entities for external reporting.  Executed cash management, banking activities, debt instruments, and covenant compliance initiatives.  Managed federal, state, and local tax returns including sales tax returns.  Developed management reports, budget forecasts, and startup analysis.  Pioneered the implementation of innovative management reporting systems.  Coordinated and completed external financial audits for 50 divisions without any adjustments.
