Daily Duties at Northrop Grumman Corporation:
1. Restore corrupted BSP code base and restore ability to build VxWorks operating system image. 2. Put BSP code into version control system under the authority of software-configuration-control department 3. Complete BSP make it provide software interfaces that matched previous generation hardware. 4. Devise method to load the VxWorks and application images onto flash memory of the single-board-computers (SBCs) and launch the application for eventual product release while meeting flash memory margin requirements. 5. Supply whatever help may be required to prepare product for qualification testing 6. Teach application developers who normally work with the ADA programming language how to write C programs that are safe and reliable. 7. Write software examples that can be shared with vendors to demonstrate and correct problems. 8. Write code for testing specific features to measure timing profiles or verify loading capacity. 9. Trouble shoot data interfaces: networking, serial communications, asynchronouse communications, PCI and VME backplanes 10. Teach application developers about hardware techonologies and software standards related to the hardware devices. How computer data busses work (PCI/VME), how network stacks work, how interfaces like MIL-1553 work, how video works, how graphics chips deliver images to video outputs. 11. Mediate between software engineers and hardware engineers to determine actual cause of problems and find solutions. 12. Provide code examples to illustrate how to do things in the C programming language. 13. Participate in design review process. 14. Participate in design of H1 Gen 2 Mission Computer upgrade from kickoff to manufacturing release 15. Participate in design of H1 Tech Refresh mission computer from kickoff to now
