Daily Duties at State University Of New York, Stony Brook:

To develop a strong basic science research program in th emergency department which is required for academic affiliation. To develop the lab I had to secure the space, money and instruements and hire peopand a excellent research proposal le to initiate the work.Then i had to supervise the day to day the bench work and to organize to a good research proposal The results were published in esteemed journals and an excellent research proposal on glucose-6-phosphatase gene expression in shock was submitted to NIH for funding. The proposals were approved and funded by NIH for 1.2 million dollar for the work. This was the first emergency lab. nationally funded by NIH. Very soon other emergency departments started to follow the lead for their own lab.
