Daily Duties at Spdc:

• Installed of Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.3 on Dell • Implemented Network Communications on Servers. • Managed RedHat drives using Linux Logical Volume Manager • Performed User/Group Account Administration • Implemented password aging. • Troubleshooted Network and TCP/IP issues on the servers. • Troubleshooted Performance issues using VMSTAT, IOSTAT and NETSTAT • Managed patches on Solaris using associated tools • Managed packages on RedHat using RPM and YUM • Installed other third party applications on Servers. • Implemented UNIX host security on all servers based on industry stand • Created Virtual host Containers for multiple Web Sites. • Performed Server Memory upgrades on Solaris and Linux • Updated server baseline document in line with changes on servers • Monitored system logins • Wrote shell scripts to track disk space • Managed a multiplatform environment consisting of Redhat and Solaris servers • Installed Servers as dedicated hosts. • Configured Network Settings on Servers • Configured Linux Servers to auto update patches • Implemented file system security on servers • Made Changes to SSH config file to disable root access. • Rap SSH Protocol with Tcp wrappers Application • Supported Web Application developers. • Wrote Shell scripts to monitor disk space. • Implemented NFS on RedHat Servers. • Troubleshooted NFS client issues . • Created Group Accounts. • Wrote baseline documentation on all Servers
