Daily Duties at Circle Solutions, Inc.:

I was originally hired by Circle for their NIAMS contract (which I had previously worked on at Cygnus) to create and deliver the quarterly Combined Health Information Database updates of materials. I also provided advanced research support, created and update mailable information packages of the latest scientific areas, updated our reference files of scientific articles, maintained our reference collection of medical texts and journals. In addition, I coordinated the creation low literacy web pubs between our client, and Circles publications, and web team. I provided editing, fact verification, and quality control for these publications as well. I also developed an image database of NIAM's historic and scientific images, working with photographers and the research scientists to get releases for the people in the photos. I also developed searches in various databases to determine when NIAMS scientists, personnel, or studies were featured in the news. After this contract ended, I worked on other contracts including NIDDK where I created a "one stop shopping" database containing NIDDK publications, organizations, and other government publications arranged by subject area to increase the efficiency of the information specialists taking calls, and to reduce the learning curves of new indfo specs to provide information to callers. I also worked with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to revise their keyword list, cataloging guidelines, and to provide quality control to their internal databases. I also developed with the web team and online thesaurus for users of the HRSA website., helped revise the search capabiility on the website and helped developed other resources such as related organizations and categorizing publications as consumer oriented or professionally oriented for better use by database users. I also used Google Analytics to analyze our web traffic. During times of high volume calls, I also helped on the phones providing information. For the company as a whole, I worked on may different proposal efforts, using my library expertise and research skills. I also helped in the most recent Circle web page redesign.
