Daily Duties at Sentara Healthcare:
• Worked with Chief Audit Executive (CAE) to develop an integrated audit approach using combined elements of several traditional audit areas including financial, operational, and information technology. • Performed internal audits based on the annual audit plan. • Duties included: evaluation of risk exposure relating to healthcare operations, finances and information systems relative to the effectiveness and efficiency of operations; reliability and integrity of financial and operational information; safeguarding of assets; and compliance with federal and state laws and healthcare regulations and contracts. This includes interpretation of financial and operational designs, controls and data in the complex healthcare business. • Results of audits were reported to applicable management through written communications and significant results were reported to Senior/Executive management. Significant audit reports were communicated to the Audit/Compliance Committee on a quarterly basis. • Demonstrated knowledge in technology used for gathering and analyzing data.
