Daily Duties at Oracle (Sun Microsystems):

Design, develop, execute and validat manufacturing processes tools to support the production of the company's products. Work closely with Research and Development (R&D)to develop Statement of Work (SOW), perform requirements gathering, review & provide input to specifications, develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), and provide other Design for Manufacturing input (DFM). Lead mechanical manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with cross-functional team members (internal and external) during pilot phase through product release and provide technical support for sustaining products. Provide change management of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with suppliers. Provide technical support in supply chain evaluations and supplier selection process. Drive process and product improvement activities to promote product quality, efficiency and manufacturability by using concepts such as SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc. Collect and analyze in process data to determine areas for process improvement and cost reduction. Actively contribute to project activities through completion of tasks as a core team member.
