Daily Duties at University Of Maryland Medical Center (Ummc):

Performed and analyzed highly complex assays on clinical specimens for HLA typing, crossmatching and antibody studies. Testing methodologies included SSOP, SSP, cytotoxicity, flow cytometry and Luminex microbead assays. Closely followed quality control in test assays, including instrumentation, documented and initiated corrective action and problem resolution as required. Developed, validated and implemented new and/or revised procedures and protocols. Trained new employees in HLA theories, protocols and laboratory tasks. Reviewed patients' data for compatibility with UNOS donors to determine if flow crossmatches would be necessary. Prepared, tested and reported cadaver workups for UNOS typing and solid organ transplant.
