Daily Duties at Mu Student Health Center:
Performs independent triage assessment, and intervention in response to patient needs, supervise and provide direction to LPN and support staff, works with provider and/or co-team leader to identify and resolve issues within the team, demonstrates knowledge of continuous quality improvement and compliance to state and federal regulations and AAAHC standards, models excellent behavior and work traits, works with SHC manager in problem solving, records current medications and medicine allergies, initiates collection of lab specimens when indicated, vital signs assists support staff by accepting and handling nursing phone inquiries, administers medications per written/verbal provider’s orders, standing orders/protocols, initiates and/or observes the I.V. infusions for rate of flow, connection, and insertion site, assists as appropriate with patients’ education needs, sterilizing instruments, schedule management (game plan), working with service reps to schedule consultant appointments and giving adequate patient information to obtain pre-certifications when necessary, organizing/recording requests for time off, telephone triage, floating between teams to help manage patient flow.
