Daily Duties at The Thomson Corporation:

Set, revise and update accounting standards and corporate accounting policies for all matters handled on a global level at the corporate level such as executive compensation (FAS 123), Hedging and Derivatives (FAS 133), Pension accounting, Long Term Debt accounting including variable interest rates and currencies (Canadian and US) and related hedges, Tax Accounting and reserves FIN 48, Revenue Recognition, international transfer pricing and foreign exchange accounting under Canadian, US and IFRS GAAP. I also was responsible for the global management of our relationship with external auditors PwC and the execution of quarterly, annual and special audits and disclosures including those for acquisition or disposition due diligence. I operated the accounting of the most central aspects and was part of a 3 person team that consolidated global results for reporting to Canadian and US markets via such modes as 10K, 10Q or the foreign reporter equivalent to US market. Also responsible for vetting the final printed and published versions of the company's external annual financial statements and MD&A at the printers.
