Daily Duties at Discover Financial Servcies:

Reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer I drive the creation and execution of DFS’ Enterprise Information Management Vision and Strategy Designed of overall Information Architecture to improve business performance and value through IA strategic direction, solutions and capabilities, such as data governance, master data management (MDM), metadata management, business intelligence (BI), content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure components. - Identified gaps and opportunities in how strategic data is leveraged across the enterprise. Ensure strategic data is managed and available in support of key business processes. - Facilitated the development of a corporate data policies and information management strategy that outlines the appropriate data stewardship, data quality, data management and data modeling best practices, processes, and tools to ensure data quality, security and agility. - Worked with key stakeholders and develop alternative solution approaches and recommendations to best meet the overall business and enterprise Information objectives Ensure planned IT delivery projects and activities are in alignment with long-term technology footprint, business strategy and capabilities needs and effective total cost of ownership for the business. - Continuously search the horizon for technology opportunities in alignment with business strategy and needs. - Continuously expand breadth and depth of technology expertise to include applied research. - Set future state for Information Architecture related solution capabilities including articulation through roadmaps of current state evolution to get to future state. • Through thought leadership, establish, drive, and direct a robust and innovative architecture strategy aligned with the company's business goals • Understand evolving business needs and technology capabilities to optimize our information and service management approaches • Manage the risks associated with information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies interact with senior external personnel and internal leadership on significant business or technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations Identifies tracks and ensures conformity with various Information Technology compliance requirements; ensures that sufficient controls are in place to conduct all information processing within established procedures and necessary security; ensures the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment of the Company. knowledge of Sox Controls and IT control framework (ISO, CoBIT, etc.) Ability to lead by influence and drive change in a matrixed and dynamic environment. create robust technology Roadmaps.
