Daily Duties at Knolls Atomic Power Lab:
Analyzed spent fuel Packaging Method B–Medium Port design used in spent fuel canisters, and determined the safety of design implementation. Performed criticality analysis of spent fuel Processed D1G Center Port Poison basket design used for spent fuel transportation and storage. Created and ran Monte Carlo decks, analyzing spent fuel configurations, decay heat calculations post shutdown, and end of life loads of shutdown submarines. Created and ran in-house codes, monitored submarine activity on a quarterly basis, and reported results. Conducted submarine initial criticality physics testing onboard the USS Georgia, USS Alabama and USS Alaska.
