Daily Duties at Community Action Commission:
Performed all accounting functions for the association, including strategic fiscal planning, AP/AR, fixed asset management, cash flow/cost control, payroll administration, general ledger, taxation and reporting. Monitored numerous federal, state and private grant programs; prepared annual grant budgets, submitted monthly invoices and produced detailed monthly statistical reports and financial statements, comparing budget vs., actual for each program, as tools for grant managers. Formulated comprehensive bi-monthly overall financial statements for review by the governing board. Developed and managed the agency’s $4.5M annual budget. Ensured compliance with all relevant regulations and funding agency requirements. Instituted and maintained financial standards, policies and wage/benefits plans. Liaised with contract providers to coordinate health insurance, pension and other benefits. Communicated with private auditors and funders to expedite financial audits.
