Daily Duties at Office Depot, Inc./Office Max:
• Provide strategic direction, formulate and administer affirmative action, and equal employment opportunity policies, programs and goals. Subject matter compliance expert with respect to employment law-related government regulations. • Manage and provide strategic direction for Veterans and People with Disabilities Initiative, working with a 100+ person team including OfficeMax executives and associates, national and local disability providers, and government agencies, to increase hiring and retention of veterans and people with disabilities. • Implement newly published 503 and 4212 regulations working with multiple business teams to ensure compliance. • Responsible for EEO/AA Compliance for 25,000+ employees in over 1000 U. S. locations and 1,800 employees in 50 Canadian locations resulting in developing and administering over 1000 affirmative action plans. • Work with HR business partners to ensure EEO initiatives support the company business strategies and objectives, including training, implementation, validation assessments, compensation, and policy. • Partner with the VP, Chief Diversity Officer to assess workforce composition and identify areas where greater diversity efforts and AA placement goals may co-exist.
